Clinics 2012

March 2012 - Intensive Horse Training & Certified Instructor Preparation Program
A 4 to 5 week program, designed to share knowledge with future horse-trainers & riding instructors.

  • You will learn Marion's approach to colt starting, including prep work like ground work, in hand & at liberty as well as teaching horses to drive, single and double, in the arena & out on the trail, including long-lining and all prep work to hitching.
  • You can bring one of your own horses for advancement & riding lessons.
  • You will learn how to teach lessons and preparation work towards becoming a certified CHA riding Instructor.
  • If available, you will work with foals or wild horses. 2009 Apprentices learned how to free-load wild horses into a horse trailer. (Can't promise this for every apprenticeship)
  • You will go out on our beautiful trails and learn how to put a pack on a horse, hobble train, high line, knots, etc.
  • You will probably touch on some problem solving with people-spoiled horses.

Held at Don & Marion's place near Princeton, room and paddock included.
